Health, the greatest gift of life, largely depends on magnetism and magnetism is connected to your breath. If you don’t breathe fully, deeply and rhythmically you cannot be magnetic; ultimately you cannot be mentally, emotionally or physically well.
The nervous system is the main battery of the human body. When our nervous system is weak, our battery stops working properly. Through deep, rhythmic breathing we attract from the universe nourishment in the form of oxygen, life and intelligence, power and radiance for the nervous system, so that it may work perfectly. This leads to good health, and increased magnetism, which radiates through our thoughts, feelings, words, actions and attitude, charging our environment with a loving and protective energy. As a result, we are protected from all negative influences, physical and mental, so that we may live a fuller, more auspicious life. Magnetism is a sign of vibrant life, youth, health and radiance. When our nervous system is fully charged we become magnetic, causing us to think clearly, to easily imagine what we want to create, and to enjoy excellent memory, keeping all kinds of mental diseases away. It is this magnetism which attracts the soul and holds it in the human body, so that it may work properly during our journey on Earth.
The breath holds magnetic power and carries a great deal of strength that we can extract and store as vitality. In the business world, one’s level of success is directly related to his or her power of of magnetism. Through the proper use of the breath, you can develop more magnetism to attract what you need. A magnetic person is always calm and centered, regardless of what unexpected things come their way. Our Naam meditation practice gives us a powerful opportunity to work with the breath to make ourselves vastly more magnetic. Repeating the Naam, Eck Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad 7 times per breath causes you to develop the magnetism necessary to bring health and success into your life. It is not by coincidence that this is the exact breathing pattern found in the 4th track of the Naam Liberation album. This form of breathing allows you to absorb the vital flow of energy, which comes down from the higher world, so that you may connect with and abide by the healing and beneficial Laws of God. It is important for us to realize that breath is God. All true healing comes from the grace of God.

The sacred words Eck Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad is the essence of the Mul Mantra, the very first words spoken by Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru, after his union with God. It was said that one evening, Nanak sat on the bank of the Kali Bein (Black River) in total darkness with his friend and follower, Mardana. Nanak removed his clothes and walked into the river. Mardana, thinking Nanak would come out soon, called out to him and waited for him but he never came. Three days went by and on the third night, Nanak emerged from the river and after a long time, he opened his mouth and proclaimed the Mul Mantra.
Guru Nanak was born in the year 1469. It is Patanjali, the great Hindu Sage, Father of yoga, and one of the most revered Yogis of India, who foretold the coming of Guru Nanak, some 2,180 years prior to Guru Nanak's existence. While in his ashram lecturing on the great prophets of the Kali Yug, Patanjali singled out Guru Nanak as the one who would be outstanding during this age. Patanjali said of Nanak, "He will use a unique single syllable mantra which hasn’t been utilized before, during any Age or Era. This will be Wahe Guru." Wahe Guru, which means "Lord of Wonderment", was spread with love and humility by Guru Nanak and his followers. Wahe Guru, which is part of the mantra Eck Ong Kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru, is meditated upon in our spiritual practice. We should continue to recite the Naam, Eck Ong Kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru, along with all or any part of Jaap Sahib till the last breath in our body.
